Desperate and concerned, dozens of customers and workers crowded Banco Canarias and Banpro branches in the early hours hoping to determine the fate of their money upon the announcement the government would be taking over the institutions for alleged irregularities in its management. "Now what will happen to my money, whom do I ask? No one is managing it," some asked, while others were asked, "the savings and current accounts in the banks are frozen?
