A Venezuelan delegation headed by the metropolitan councilor Freddy Guevara, and composed of representatives of the National College of Journalists, the National Press Workers' Union, We Are Radio and the Venezuelan Penal Forum, protested Monday afternoon at Parlasur in Montevideo, Uruguay against the veto of the discussion of human rights violations in Venezuela. Freddy Guevara, Gonzalo Himiob, Marcos Ruiz (the Ultimas Noticias journalist who was assaulted), Rafael Cadavieco (We Are Radio) and Silvia Alegrett of the National College of Journalists protested the decision of the board of Mercosur to ignore the issue.
